# Reactivate a trading account

> Turn a deactivated account back on. The account returns to `in_progress` (or `not_started` if it never traded), and normal billing resumes.

**What happens:**
1. The account status returns to `in_progress` or `not_started`
2. The trader can trade again immediately
3. The account counts toward your active trader bill for the current month
4. Balances, drawdown levels, and rule progress are unchanged

**Requirements:** The account must be `inactive`. Passed, failed, or expired accounts cannot be reactivated.

**Webhooks:** `account.status_changed` fires with `trigger: "firm_reactivated"` and the reason you provided.

**Idempotent:** Calling reactivate on an already-active account returns success with `changed: false`.

**Example:**
```bash
curl -X POST ".../v1/organization/trading-accounts/7c9e6679-7425-40de-944b-e07fc1f90ae7/reactivate" \
  -H "X-API-Key: hp_live_your_key_here" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{ "reason": "Trader returned" }'
```
